The 9th Panhellenic Conference on Meat and Meat Products will take place on 29, 30 and 31 January 2027 at the «Ioannis Vellidis» Conference Centre, in the Olympias Hall. It is organised by Meat News magazine, under the scientific guidance of a multidisciplinary Scientific Committee.
The aim of the Conference is to highlight and promote modern practices and measures covering the entire meat production and supply chain, “from farm to fork”. Its objective is to foster an integrated approach to the quality, hygiene and safety of meat and meat products, while placing particular emphasis on animal health and welfare, environmental protection and sustainable development, within the framework of the One Health approach.
The Conference programme covers the entire meat value chain and encompasses a broad range of scientific and technological fields, including:
- Primary production, animal feed, nutrition, genetic improvement and farming systems.
- Animal health, biosecurity and welfare during rearing, transport and slaughter.
- Slaughter hygiene and technology, as well as meat inspection.
- Hygiene and safety of game meat and the management of animal by-products (ABPs).
- Biological and chemical hazards, antimicrobial resistance and the One Health approach.
- Preservation and packaging methods, product shelf life and maintenance of the cold chain.
- Analytical methods, authenticity, traceability and digital applications.
- Legislation, official controls and quality and food safety management systems.
- Sustainable production, environmental footprint and by-product valorisation.
- Economic aspects of meat and meat product production, processing and marketing, as well as the overall sustainability of the sector.
- The nutritional value of meat, consumer trends, catering and education.
